  1. Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (E) in order to position the track roller frame. The weight of the track roller frame is approximately 4354 kg (9600 lb).
  1. Install plate (11) with bolts (10) . Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 271 N·m (200 lb ft).

  1. Install the O-ring seal on plate (8) . Install the plate on the track roller frame.
  1. Install ring (9) in order to hold the plate in the track roller frame.
  1. Install plug (7) .

  1. Put Tooling (C) in position under the front of the track roller frame.
  1. Use Tooling (C) to align the track roller frame with the equalizer bar.

    NOTICE

    To prevent damage to the pivot shaft seal, do not install the bolts that hold the pivot shaft seal retainer to the main frame case until the equalizer bar has been connected to the track roller frame.



  1. The procedure for connecting the equalizer bar to the track roller frame follows:
    1. Align the holes in the track roller frame and the hole in the equalizer bar with Tooling (C) .
    1. Put pin (6) in position on the track roller frame.
    1. If necessary, install guard (12) onto spacers (14) . Install bolts (13) hand tight.
    1. Install the bolts and nuts (5) .
    1. If necessary, push guard (12) against the roller frame and tighten bolts (13) .

    1. Tighten bolt (5A) to a torque of 1600 ± 200 N·m (1180 ± 148 lb ft).
    1. Tighten bolt (5B) to a torque of 1600 ± 200 N·m (1180 ± 148 lb ft).
    1. Torque bolt (5A) again to a torque of 1600 ± 200 N·m (1180 ± 148 lb ft).
    1. Torque bolt (5B) again to a torque of 1600 ± 200 N·m (1180 ± 148 lb ft).
    1. Repeat Step 8.f thru Step 8.i for opposite side of the machine.

  1. Install bolts (4) in order to hold retainer (3) in position.

  1. Remove Tooling (C) .

  1. Install plug (2) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) to lower the machine on the track. Remove Tooling (A) and the two 50 ton screw jacks.
  1. Remove Tooling (B) .
  1. Fill the reservoir for the pivot shaft with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Pivot Shaft Oil Level – Check”.

End By:

  1. Connect the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Track – Connect”.
  2. Install the trunnion. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Trunnion – Install”.
  3. Install the bulldozer. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Bulldozer – Install”.
