Start By:

  1. Remove the equalizer bar pads.

------ WARNING! ------

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

  1. Drain the oil from the pivot shaft compartment into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the pivot shaft compartment is approximately 30.3 L (8 US gal).
  1. Remove bolts (2) from one pivot shaft retainer (1) .

    Note: Remove bolts (2) in order to allow the pivot shaft to rotate as the machine is lifted. This will prevent any damage to the seal assembly.

  1. Place Tooling (A) at the front of the machine, as shown.

  1. Remove nut (5) and bolt (3) in order to release pin (4). Repeat this Step in order to release the pin on the other side of the machine.

  1. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove pin (4). Repeat this Step in order to remove pin (4) on the other side of the machine.

  1. Remove hose assemblies (7). Reposition manifold (6) .

  1. Place Tooling (C) in position, as shown.

  1. Place Tooling (D) in position under the center of the equalizer bar.
  1. Use Tooling (E) in order to remove pin (8) .

  1. Attach Tooling (F) and a suitable lifting device to the equalizer bar. Remove Tooling (D) .

  1. Use Tooling (F) in order to lower equalizer bar (9). Remove equalizer bar (9). The weight of equalizer bar (9) is approximately 489 kg (1078 lb).
