Start By:

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Transmission – Remove”.

  1. Position transmission (1) onto Tooling (A) . The weight of transmission (1) is approximately 771 kg (1700 lb).

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. Remove four O-ring seals (4) . Remove O-ring seal (5) . Remove plugs (6) and springs (3) . Remove sleeves (2) .

  1. Remove nut (7) . Remove harness assembly (8) from transmission (1) .

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (10) . Remove bolts (9) and remove hydraulic control valve (11) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (13) . Remove rotor (16) . Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (15) . Remove bolts (12) and plate assembly (14) .

  1. Use Tooling (C) in order to remove seal (17) from plate assembly (14) .

  1. Remove the bolt and retainer (18) . Remove tube assembly (19) .

  1. Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device onto manifold (21) . The weight of manifold (21) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Use Tooling (B) and remove retaining ring (20) . Remove bolts (22) . Remove manifold (21) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) and remove retaining ring (23) . Remove bearing (24) .
