D6D TRACTOR POWER TRAIN – Torque Divider Scavenge Pump (Power Shift)

Remove And Install Torque Divider Scavenge Pump (Power Shift)

Start By:

a. remove crankcase guard

NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

1. Remove the oil from the torque divider.

2. Remove oil tube (1).

3. Remove six bolts (2) and washers.

4. Install two 3/8″-16 NC forcing screws (3) in the pump. Tighten the screws evenly until the pump is loose. Remove torque divider scavenge pump (4).

NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the torque divider scavenge pump (power shift)

5. Put a new gasket in position on the torque divider.

6. Put torque divider scavenge pump (4) in position on the torque divider. Make sure the gear on torque divider scavenge pump (4) engages with the drive gear.

7. Install six bolts (2) and washers.

8. Connect oil tube (1).

9. Fill the torque divider with oil to the correct level. See Operation And Maintenance Manual.

End By:

a. install crankcase guard

NOTICE

Perform Scheduled Oil Sampling on oil wetted compartments after performing service work to check for contaminants left in the system following repair. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
