D6D TRACTOR POWER TRAIN – Torque Converter Outlet Relief Valve (Power Shift)

Remove And Install Torque Converter Outlet Relief Valve (Power Shift)

1. Remove the floor plate from the machine.

NOTE: The brake and steering clutch control rod assemblies are removed for better photo illustration of the outlet relief valve.

2. Disconnect oil temperature line (3) and clip (1).

3. Disconnect tube assembly (2). Remove the O-ring seal from the tube assembly.

4. Remove three bolts (5) and outlet relief valve (4). Remove the two O-ring seals in the valve body. Check the condition of the seals. If the seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.

NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the torque converter outlet relief valve (power shift).

5. Install two new O-rings seals in the valve body. Put clean oil on the seals. Install valve (4) with three bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb.ft.).

6. Install the O-ring seal in tube assembly (2). Connect tube assembly (2) to the valve.

7. Install oil temperature line (3) in the valve. Connect clip (1) to the top of the valve.

4. Install the floor plate on the machine.

Disassemble And Assemble Torque Converter Outlet Relief Valve (Power Shift)

Start By:

a. remove torque converter outlet relief valve (power shift)

1. Remove two bolts (6) and cover (5).

2. Remove seal (4).

3. Remove spring (3), spacers (2) and valve spool assembly (1).

4. Remove ring (10), retainer (9), spring (8) and plunger (7).

5. Make sure all of the parts of the torque converter outlet relief valve are clean and free of dirt and foreign material.

NOTE: Assemble in reverse order.

End By:

a. install torque converter outlet relief valve (power shift)
