Remove And Install Steering Clutch Relief Valve (Direct Drive And Special Application)
Start By:
a. remove fuel tank
NOTE: The cab is tilted back for better photo illustration of the steering clutch relief valve.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |

1. Disconnect four tube assemblies (1).
2. Disconnect tube assemblies (4) and (5). Remove the O-ring seals from the tube assemblies.
3. Remove three bolts (2) and steering clutch relief valve (3).
4. Remove the four O-ring seals from under the valve. Check the condition of the seals. If the seals have damage, use new parts for replacement.
NOTE: Coat the o-ring seals with clean engine oil for installation purposes.
NOTE: Install in reverse order.

Disassemble And Assemble Steering Clutch Relief Valve (Direct Drive And Special Application)

1. Remove bolts (2) and cover (1).
2. Check the condition of the O-ring seal in the cover. If the seal is damaged, replace with a new part.
3. Remove spring (5), spacers (4) and valve assembly (3).
4. Remove slug (10).
5. Remove ring (9) with tool (A). Remove retainer (8), spring (7) and plunger (6).
6. Remove spiral ring (12) and plug (11). Check the condition of the O-ring seal on the plug. If the seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement.
NOTE: Make sure all of the parts of the relief valve are clean and free of dirt. Put clean oil on all the inside parts of the valve.
NOTE: Assemble in reverse order.
