3306 VEHICULAR ENGINE FOR D5B, D6D & D7G TRACTORS – Flywheel Housing

Remove Flywheel Housing

START BY:

a) remove engine (power shift, direct drive and special application)

b) remove crankshaft rear seal

c) remove electric starting motor

d) remove hydraulic oil pump*

e) remove transmission oil pump*

f) remove hydraulic oil tank*

1. Install two 1/2″-13 NC forged eyebolts or two 5P9736 Link Brackets on the flywheel housing.

2. Remove the bolts that hold oil pan plate to flywheel housing.

3. Loosen all oil pan plate bolts (2) and install a spacer (1) between the oil pan plate and the cylinder block.

4. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel housing. Weight of the flywheel housing is 225 lb. (102 kg).

5. Remove bolts (3) that hold flywheel housing to cylinder block.

6. Remove flywheel housing.

Install Flywheel Housing

1. Install a new gasket on flywheel housing.

2. Install two 1/2″-13 NC forged eyebolts or two 5P9736 Link Brackets in the flywheel housing.

3. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel housing. Weight of housing is 225 lb. (102 kg).

4. Put the flywheel housing (1) in position on cylinder block.

5. Install the bolts that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. Tighten the bolts to their standard torque and in the sequence shown in the illustration.

6. Cut the flywheel housing gasket even with the oil pan face of the cylinder block.

7. Remove the spacer from between the oil pan plate.

8. Install and tighten all bolts in the oil pan plate.

END BY:

a) install hydraulic oil tank*

b) install transmission oil pump*

c) install hydraulic oil pump*

d) install electric starting motor

e) install crankshaft rear seal

f) install engine (power shift, direct drive and special application)
