3306 VEHICULAR ENGINE FOR D5B, D6D & D7G TRACTORS – Fan Drive And Fan

Remove Fan Drive And Fan

1. Remove the hood, muffler and precleaner assembly.

2. Drain the coolant from the radiator to a level below the radiator outlet elbow.

3. Remove the nuts and bolts to remove the right half of guard assembly (1).


NOTICE

Do not cause damage to the radiator core with the fan.


4. Remove the nuts and bolts that hold adapter (2) and fan to the fan drive.

5. Remove the bolts to remove fan drive (3) from the cylinder head.

6. Loosen the clamps and slide hose (4) away from the outlet elbow (5). Remove the bolts and remove outlet elbow (5) from the radiator.

7. Remove the left half of guard assembly (1) from the machine.

8. Remove adapter (2) from the fan and remove fan (6) from the machine.

Install Fan Drive And Fan


NOTICE

Be careful not to damage the radiator core when the fan is put against it.


1. Put fan (1) in position against the radiator core and install adapter (3) on the fan.

2. Install the left half of guard assembly (2).

3. Put the gasket in place and install outlet elbow (5) to the top of the radiator.

4. Put hose (4) and the clamps in position and tighten the clamps.

5. Install fan drive (6) on the front of the cylinder head.

6. Install the vee belts on the fan drive.

7. Install the nuts and bolts that hold adapter (3) and fan to the fan drive.

8. Install the right half of guard assembly (2).

9. Make an adjustment to the vee belts. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS for the correct tension on the vee belts.

10. Fill the cooling system to the correct level. See MAINTENANCE GUIDE.

11. Install the hood, muffler and precleaner assembly.
