Remove Camshaft Bearings

START BY:

a) remove oil pan plate

b) remove timing gears and plate

1. Remove the camshaft bearings with tooling (A).

Install Camshaft Bearings

1. Use tool (A) to install the camshaft bearings in the cylinder block.

2. Install the front bearing (the bearing with two oil holes) in the cylinder block with the bearing oil holes in alignment with the oil holes in a horizontal position and with the bearing joint at the top. The bearing joint angle must be within 15° from vertical position (X). The installation depth or dimension A of the front bearing from the front face of the block is 0.5 ± 0.5 mm (.02 ± .02 in.).

3. Install the remainder of the bearings with the bearing oil hole in alignment with the oil hole in the cylinder block. Install bearings to the dimensions given from the front face of the block: B) 154.0 ± 0.5 mm (6.06 ± .02 in.), C) 303.2 ± 0.5 mm (11.94 ± .02 in.), D) 601.7 ± 0.5 mm (23.69 ± .02 in.), E) 904.3 /5 ± 0.5 mm (35.60 ± .02 in.).

END BY:

a) install camshaft

b) install timing gears and plate

c) install oil pan plate
