3306 DIRECT INJECTION VEHICULAR ENGINE WITH NEW SCROLL FUEL – Governor Control For D5B & D6D With Power Shift Transmission (Sleeve Metering Fuel System – DI)

Linkage Adjustment Procedure:

NOTE: With control lever in high idle position and governor control shaft in full on position, put lever (6) on shaft at angle (D).

Angle (D) is:

D5B … 10 ± 5°

D6D … 15 ± 5°

Dimension (A) (approximately) … 14.2 in.(361 mm)

Tighten nut (1) to … 20 ± 5 lb. ft.(25 ± 7 N·m)

Dimension (B) (approximately) … 19.5 in.(495 mm)

Tighten nut (4) to … 20 ± 5 lb. ft.(25 ± 7 N·m)

Dimension (C) (approximately) … 30.9 in.(786 mm)

Tighten nut (5) to … 9 ± 3 lb. ft.(12 ± 4 N·m)

Dimension (E) … 15 in.(382 mm)

Adjust stop (2) so that engine speed, with decelerator pedal pushed all the way down, is … 825 ± 50 rpm

Dimension (X) … .06 ± .02 in.(1.5 ± 0.5 mm)

Tighten nut (3) to … 20 ± 5 lb. ft.(25 ± 7 N·m)

Check engine high idle speed after decelerator is adjusted. Make reference to FUEL SETTING INFORMATION.

1. With pin removed from lever (6) move lever (6) to high idle position (rearward).

2. Move lever (Y) rearward until interference occurs in linkage.

3. Adjust rod end (Z) to position holes short of alignment [approx. .2 in. (5 mm)] with hole in lever (6).

4. Move lever (6) to shutoff position and lever (Y) forward until interference occurs. Holes in rod end (Z) must be forward of hole in lever (6). If additional adjustment is required repeat Step 3, [.2 in. (5 mm) dim. may be decreased].

5. Install pin and cotter.

6. Position angle (W) to dimension (X).
