Remove And Install Hydraulic Oil Tank

Start By: (for machines with a cab)

a. tilt cab back*

b. remove dash

Start By: (for machines without a cab)

a. remove Roll-Over Protective Structure*

b. remove dash

------ WARNING! ------

Do not drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank until the temperature of the oil is cool. If the temperature of the oil is hot, use caution when the oil is drained. Open the cap on the hydraulic tank slowly to release all pressure in the tank.

--------WARNING!------

1. Open plug (1) on the side of the tank to drain the oil. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 41.6 litre (11 gallons).

2. Remove muffler (3), precleaner (2) and hood (4).

3. Disconnect rod assemblies (5) and (6) at bellcrank (7).

4. Remove four bolts (8) that hold the two tube assemblies to the rear of the hydraulic oil tank.

5. Disconnect and plug hydraulic hose assemblies (9) and (10).

6. Fasten a hoist to hydraulic oil tank (11) as shown.

7. Remove the hose assembly clip from the lower right side of the hydraulic oil tank.

8. Remove two bolts, washers and nuts (12) from each side of the tank. Remove the hydraulic oil tank. The weight of the hydraulic oil tank is 124 kg (275 lb) empty.

NOTE: Install in reverse order.

NOTE: If necessary, make adjustments to the two rod assemblies after the machine is completely assembled and in condition to operate. See Control Linkage in 153-163 Hydraulic Control Specifications, Form No. SENR7442.

9. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See Operation and Maintenance Manual.
